Stephen Monro

Stephen Monro is an attorney in Washington State with a background that spans law, construction, and real estate. He founded the Monro Law Firm and Platinum Law Group and is admitted to practice in all Washington State Courts as well as the Western and Eastern District Federal Courts. In addition to his legal career, he holds licenses as a general contractor, real estate broker, and IRS tax preparer. He was born in 1952 in Seattle, Washington. After completing his early education, he attended Central Washington University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later pursued a Juris Doctor degree at City University in Los Angeles and subsequently completed a Master of Business Administration at the same institution.

Before beginning his career in law, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. His military service provided discipline, leadership, and confidence under pressure—qualities that carried over into his legal practice and firm management.

He began practicing law in 1996 and has since represented clients across Washington in both state and federal courts. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and affiliated with the Washington State Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. Over time, his practice has operated under several names, including the Law Office of Stephen K. Monro, the Monro Law Firm, and Platinum Law Group.

His experience as a licensed contractor and real estate broker provides him with practical insight into legal cases involving construction and property. He also provides mediation services, often helping clients resolve disputes outside of court, and assists with tax preparation as an IRS-credentialed professional.

Outside his profession, he enjoys fishing, camping with family, raising horses, and preserving wildlife habitats. He and his wife are nearing their 50th wedding anniversary, a milestone that reflects the value he places on family and stability.
